Please put the updates here. I'm sure there are several people who do not get pinged regularly.
Thanks for keeping us posted!

TexasCowboy put this one up at 4:30 this afternoon:
""I'm sorry to say that the baby again is NOT doing well at all. He just can't breathe and is showing more and more discomfort and aggitation. They are once again running another echo on his heart to make sure he doesn't have any heart dmage. We have no results at this time.
We are heartsick, worried, and prayerful that he will again improve a little. Please join us in prayer... thanks......"
And at close to 6:00, the news was this....
Hi all...
Here's what we know this early evening.
The echo caught a valve (can't remember the name or the technical term of this) that when a baby is born and separates from it's mother, is supposed to close. The 3 previous echoes that were run on Logan showed it to be closed. The one today caught it in the open position. This has been "suspect" from the beginning, but was never confirmed until today. This is NOT PDA, which would require immediate surgery. But it is something of concern. It might close on it's own as it should, and if it's doesn't, then down the line it will require surgery. It is something the staff is "not extremely concerned" about right now. I think anything to do with the heart is reason for concern!!!
Logan also has BPD, Bronchial Pulmonary Disease. In other words, he has "cruddy" lungs. And at the present, this appears to be one of his biggest problems. They have increased his respiratory therapy treatments and are bringing a lot of "gunk" out of them. He is breathing again a little on his own when he's awake, but when he sleeps, he lets himself be totally dependent on the ventilator. Why Not?? Poor baby... he's exhausted! They also say that Logan may be being lazy and the next time he pulls the tube out, they are going to see how he handles not having it. He really must be weaned.... his throat is becoming more irritated from it ... especially since the little fighter keeps pulling anything out and off that he can! Fight Logan Fight.!!!!
Is Logan in imminent danger.. it's hard to say. He's a VERY sick and fragile baby right now. He doesn't even resemble the smiling little one that was taken into surgery on the 26th. He's back to IV's, tubes, etc., everywhere.
In his feet, his hands, his head..... pitiful sight for a little guy who has already gone through so much. But all we care about is whatever it takes to get him well..... he won't remember and we won't tell him!
He is on antibiotic for his gram positive infection. With the crud in his lungs, we're told it's too hard to call as to whether he has pneumonia or not.
So that's where we stand this evening. He's a little warrior fighting a mighty fight. But he has all of us praying for him...... and God has heard us before.... surely He will continue to do so.... to allow Logan to remain with us.
Unless things would get worse, I won't know anything until much, much later tonight... long after most of you have gone to bed.
Please, before you close out your day..... another favor... say an extra prayer for Logan.
Someday I'll figure out a way to repay all of you other than "thank you".
We love all of you.........

For those of you who don't know about Logan, he's the preemie grandson of a friend of mine. She put out an urgent prayer request when Logan was born. I KNEW that the Freepers would be THE BEST WAY to get the word out. I'm MORE than in awe over the response to that thread. All of the things that you just read, were written by Logan's Nana, my friend.
Hang on and I'll go put a link over here to the beginning of a VERY LONG thread. Please beware, something WEIRD happens to the monitor as you're reading it. It gets all fuzzy. Sometimes, most of the time actually, you'll need Kleenex. I've NEVER EVER been so proud to be a part of a group such as Free Republic. Never.
We covet your prayers and thank you in advance.
