Grannie, I envy you on your trip south.

I never did get that perfect job of wintering over in Florida hiring out as a companion to an elderly and wealthy conservative woman. You know, the woman who already has a maid and cook and just expects me to turn on the radio to the am talk shows and make her a couple of coctails every evening.

And I did answer a few ads, really.

If the family is interviewing for a female companion for their dear mother, they expect an amazon nurse who will work for peanuts.

If the nice lady is interviewing, she wants a younger male hunk and will pay nicely.

Lord love a duck, I just can't win.
