Good Morning Amy, no I didn't fix anything for her today, she's gone until Saturday night, so I have to fend for myself today and tomorrow. I think that fried catfish is in order for tonight!!!! YUMMY!

Doin' its Own Thing

The first law of Newton I sing
My voice has a relevant ring:
"An object left free
Of hassles will be
Engrossed in just doing its thing."

Sure missed you yesterday, Amy. Darn crop duster....did you tell him "don't you know who I AM???" like all stars do? LOL

Your Highland Brose inspired me to make some *instant* oatmeal for a quick breakfast. I altered the recipe, though, since I don't plan to toss the caber today...I left out the whiskey. (eewwww...whiskey in oameal!)

And I fell down laughing at the thoughts for the day. Some are too true to be funny - like if you tell the truth, you don't have to remember anything, oh, yeah!

A cheery good morning to all poets and passersby.........have a great day.

Or how about this one?

Condensed Story of Ms Farad
by A. P. French

Miss Farad was pretty and sensual
And charged to a reckless potential;
But a rascal named Ohm
Conducted her home -
Her decline was, alas, exponential.

A mouse in her room woke Miss Doud

Who was frightened and screamed very loud

Then a happy thought hit her

To scare off the critter

She sat up in bed and just meowed

Good Morning, okimhere. It's great to see you this morning.

I can't imagine whisky in oatmeal. Wonder if it really keeps you from tossing your caber? LOL

That recipe site I found is British and some things are so funny.

*spinning*
Thread moved to a new one!
*Falls over, dizzy*

Did you know I 'killed' another thread yesterday?
The furniture was alive for something approaching five hours...

A joint effort by sis and I.
More me than sis, since it's closer to my style of strange:

Broken dream

A broken note of a dream long gone
The faded promises of a love long ago betrayed
It used to be that she dreamed of me
But I no longer float in her dreamscape sky.
She's all I still see
And I cannot hide the tears in my eyes.
Somehow it all fell apart
Wanted us to be together again
Somewhere the road was lost
And we wander in the mist in silence
And it's all a memory floating on the dust
Was I too hard to hold?
Was I a thorn of ice to you?
Pleasing to see but never meant to belong?
Did the song in the night turn to shrieks of rage?
How did it all end like this
Silence where once we laughed
A chilly step where there was once a path
I think of what was so often
And I wish there was more to see
The pain inside is so cruelly killing me
But I've drifted to the dark side of me.
And sing the broken notes from a dream long gone.

Cole's Lost Soul
by A. P. French

There was a young fellow named Cole
Who ventured too near a black hole.
His dv by dt
Was quite wondrous to see
But now all that's left is his soul.

Thank you (((((Misty))))))

A lot of what I had written way back when is gone, too. But, it's time to move forward. This thread will force me to write some current verse. It will be a challenge!

Welcome to Friday, darksheare!

Thanks for sharing another of your poems.
Did you really kill yesterday's thread? I'd better go over and direct everyone over here.

Something happier:

I remembered you

The pale moonlight came through my open window
like a long forgotten song
And lost in thought, I thought of you
and the laughter in the rain
the walks by the stream
counting shooting stars under the moon
dizzily singing a tune
warm sunshine and cold snow

The pale moonlight came through my open window
And lost in thought, I remembered you.

I may have killed that thread.
I'm not sure.
The thread of which I didst speak was a different thread from this.
And by the time I finally dragged myself off to my 'unholy repose', I was too fuzzy from sleepyness that I can't remember which it was!
(Small 'in' joke about my unholy slumber.. my friends used to jokingly accuse me of being a vampire. *snort!*)

Highland Brose

I've never had this stuff (it looks/sounds not so very good)

Aren't those offbeat recipe sites fun? I have a repro recipe book of a 1939 recipe book which had "three four-leaf clovers lovingly hidden in its pages by its original owner". It has such recipes as Quaking Custard ("A 100-year old recipe..."), Tipsy Parson, etc. And pithy information: The first scalloped foods were prepared and served in large scallop shells-----hence the name.

Naaah.
I write about the darkside of things.
The darkside of personalities, fractured minds, and lost love and friends long gone.
Well, that and bittersweet memories.
Writing stuff like "I Remember You" is actually very difficult.
Especially if I want it to make sense.
(Besides, back in '95 when I first went online was when I first used the name. And I have used it since. *Chuckle*)
