Oh, good grief! The local TV channels here are really very good at broadcasting school closings as soon as they receive them-usually by 6 AM.

Probably what happened was that it slipped their radar, because it was the only school district in their entire coverage area.
But I know now to check their website earlier than I did this morning!!!!
Considering we live in pretty flat terrain, we actually live on a high point. From what we caught on the news last night, and hubby heard when he went to the store - we were lucky. The highway was shut down in the vicinity of the elementary school about 30 minutes after Jax got home from school.
Had I got her into the other one and kept her in the after school program at her preschool - I would not have been able to get to her to pick her up - the roads in that entire town was flooded, as was the road I would take to get to her.
