Can't use water from the lake because of the endangered mudsucker... A couple of "daisycutters" on the bottom of the lake would probably splash enough water to put out the fire, and then no one would have to worry about engangered whatevers.

Hi Mr. P. Last night was the most incredible thing I have ever seen. Words fail me. My daughter who lives on the other side of town is on evacuation alert and the area where my Doctor lived burned to the ground. Approximately 1/3rd of this City is evacuated - 30,000 people. We were on the roof of my sister's house with a telescope and binoculars. We could watch the flames jumping from roof to roof and watch the house actually burn to the ground. So far 203 houses are burned down. 3 of the firefighters own houses burned down while they were out firefighting. This is a disaster and tonight is expected to be more of the same. The winds are expected to come up again and in fact are blowing a bit now. You almost have to witness this to believe it.!! We had a little prayer meeting on my sister's deck and asked that the lightning NOT strike OUR side of the Valley!! Whoa!!!!!!!

Loddy: Could you not get the ones from Castanet to post? Because we have been 60 days of HOT weather the water supplies are low. The planes were even dipping into swimming pools for water. We have firefighters here from Vancouver, Washington State etc. and they all said they have not fought a fire like this before. Some of the firefighters had to be rescued by boat!!

I just noticed the time on the picture you posted - 8pm. The fire had not really even got going yet. By 9:30 to 10 and on it was a raging inferno.

"Did the freaking roofers have to start on the house next door at 7 am on a SATURDAY?!?!!?" Cranky aren't we? I just love to hear a rooster crow early in the morning. Of course, I can sleep through most anything.
I was in a local gift shop earlier today and I saw a game that reminded me of Swervie. Can't imagine why. It is called "Strip Chocolate". I can only imagine how THAT game is played.

OMG! That looks horrible. I would be VERY nervous if I had that view from where I lived.

"Six and seven do not show up for some reason..." Hmmmm....sounds like you didn't get the new configuration memo on your secret decoder ring.

"Combine his equipment and yours, and it's party time". Reminds me of the scene in one of the Police Academy movies when Tackleberry is undressing his girlfriend. Takes them longer to remove all the hardware and cop toys than it does to remove their clothes.

Cute cute kittens, SL! Nice photos for us kitty lovers.
Hubby wants to get dogs- specifically, two German shephard puppies. Our cats will just hate that...
