The thing I love about crochet is that once you have worked on the pattern for a few days, you can count the stitches by touch. I like to crochet in the evenings while sitting outdoors, or watching TV. I am about 3/4 of the way finished with this afghan, which means if I really bust ass, it will be on our bed in time for cold weather.

That's the bad thing about working with yarn. The time of year when it's most comfortable to make things is when you wish they were already done! :-) Now I'm really going...

I agree about counting stitches.

Most of the afghans I have made, I have made up the pattern myself, either before or as I went along!!!
