Hey 2J!
My dad was a "greatest generation" Republican.
He volunteered at the age of 18, 1943, went into the IV division, US Army, landed ahead of even the first wave at Utah (Normandy) with a radio, fought in the Hedgerows, helped liberate Paris, from there fought in perhaps the bloodiest battle in the ETO, Hurtgen Forest, after that, the Bulge, then right on into Germany, including time occupying Dachau. By the time the IV got through Germany, their casualty rate was over 200%.
Dad remained anti-leftist and Conservative his whole life, which is now ended. FWIW.
So please don't take too seriously a leftist member of the "greatest generation" of which there were many. Cause there were also many on the side of truth.
My apologies, friend,
Barry

Yeah...I know. My uncle was the same way...a great guy, fought in WW2 too...he's gone too, but I have his uniform in my cedar chest.
This guy is just a typical "old school" dem who just gives me grief now and then. He seems pretty nice, but I always get the feeling I'm not dealing with the real deal...you know?
