The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,

I just received the following from Syeve's wife Crystal:


Hey everyone,
Steve made it to Iraq okay. It took one day longer than it was supposed to because of all the rain that they had gotten. Some roads were impassable. He said that they did not get fired on at all. He was not nervous until they took a wrong turn and ended up in Baghdad. Once they got out of there they were fine. Right now they are sleeping in tents, but they are supposed to be getting some little shacks set up for them. 4 people per shack and they are supposed to have air conditioning, refrig., and microwave. I guess that is really all for now, just wanted to let you know that he made it okay.

Sam; bummer for sure, that is a heap of 'beaver skins' that could have gone to materials for atl-atls and darts. Will have to mail you a care package now for sure. Can let a fellow prim-tech do without. :-)

My daughter and some of her friends drove over to Skineateles a couple days ago, where this time of year, lots of the towns folk dress from a Christmas Carol, and kind of put on a show. Being downwind from Lake Ontario, it always has a snow cover by now.

Funny, I doubt London does, but in Dickens' time, I guess we were still in the Little Ice Age, and perhpas London did, in those days, often have white Christmases.

I continue to kind of like the Victorian era.

I also like Dylan Thomas' Christmas poem, or prose, or whatever it was. I enjoyed the corny movie that was made of it.

Jr. has Christmas lights and rope lights in his room. That's all he uses (okay, so he also has a real lamp, a lava lamp and a disco ball...). But he just uses the Christmas and rope lights.
