Well I went to see the movie Elf. Took my cell phone in case she called. She probably got in at her aunt's house, forgot to call and went to dinner, then was tired and went to sleep. I guess we shouldn't be worried yet.
I'll worry about her tomorrow.

Fighting fires again? Gaaahhhhkkkk. So much for not fighting fires on this trip. Something just flared up. dammitanyway.
I just don't like this "managing people" crap. [sigh]
To: Ramius
Is this a problem with a particular person? Or a more generic problem, perhaps to do with distance from the main office?

Oops... sorry if I missed you. Wasn't watching. Had some email to attend to there for a bit.
It's a particular person. Can't discuss further on a public forum. It's frustrating thing, because I can easily see all sides in the situation.
To: Ramius
When it's a person, it's so much harder to deal with. You feel guilty for doing what must be done, and you second-guess yourself, wondering, "If I bent over just a
little farther, perhaps it would work out all right. Maybe if I contorted myself
this way, this person would see things more clearly, and I wouldn't have to make everyone's life a living hell."
As you can maybe tell, I currently have my own issues with colleagues working my nerves ...

I think you'll get more satisfaction knowing that your 37 cent "investment" causes them $1.63 in losses. Your prolly right. I was just thinking I could ruin some troll's day. I took out this part:
I know you'll actually never see this. But we know about the "other duties as assigned" for your male, er mail handlers. Perhaps he/she can relate this to you in one of those special moments.

Rosie - I just got around to reading your NaNoWriMo start. I liked it - you really have to write more. It was a great start! You've got a very distinctive narrator voice and I think there's an interesting story in there. Oops...I thought I'd taken that down! I think the narrator chick is rather annoying, but now I'm kinda stuck with her...
I plan on starting back up writing today. I'm gonna make 30,000 my goal, and if I make it to 50,000...well, that's great, but not necessary.
I think it's gonna be a goofy story that takes itself seriously - the dramatic about the ridiculous. That should be kinda fun to write!
I'm going to read at least SOME of your story this morning. I enjoyed last year's, so I'm looking forward to it!

Good morning!
Looking forward to some great threads today!
Starting off the day by killing the thread...is that a bad sign?

Can we go home now? :)

You wanna explain to me why I work for a state college and get every OTHER federal holiday off...but not Veteran's Day?
Actually, I probably don't wanna know.
To: Overtaxed
You have my permission.
For what it's worth...which isn't much.
To: RosieCotton
I think the operative word is "state" college.
I was kinda thinkin' that in reality, they should just let Veterans take today off. Most people (I assure you it's true where I work) couldn't care less why they're off.
Okay, that's enough guilt for me. I gotta get off my butt and get some work done. Off to do my part in the war on terrorist oak trees...

Just hanging around waiting for my samples to thaw. Made my reservations for Saturday night. It's a bit rainy and drizzly so I think I'll put off moving some stuff over to the barn. Guess I'll just settle down with some java and learn some Access (learning Access and building a LIMS from the ground up at the same time....whoopee!) Or I suppose I could do some research for this method I'm supposed to be developing.
