The Hobbit Hole IV – The Road Goes Ever On…
Posted on 08/04/2003 9:43:18 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
The Road Goes Ever On
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

Oops. It was supposed to be 38,999. Either way I was wrong, LOL. Someone beat me to it. But hey! I was 40K.

Why?
Just out of mild curiousity...

Well, I'm bored. Just taking a break from studying for exams. Had an urge to comment to something, lol.

I kinda just play a bunch of notes: "The right one's around here somewhere!"

I'm burning CDs. The old-timey radio programs my mom bought are in MP3 format and I have to convert them, then burn them onto audio CDs. Gonna have about 20 hour-long audio CDs when I get done.

*Sniff* My CD burner is a thousand miles away and I'm out of blank CD's anyway.

Well, this works out well for the boys. I can only convert 2 thirty minute programs onto a disk, which is just enough for the boys to listen to at night after bed. (Actually, it's too much for Joshua and he usually sleeps through the second program!)

Yeah, that's what this is...a lot of MP3s on one disk. But they won't play on the boy's CD player or on the DVD player in their room.

Well...since I took more vacation time that I had working on my house, I've been doing 9 to 10 hour days mostly: usually 7 to 4:30.

While I'll remain a Photon fan forever (I've had three different Photons already), I just came across
this neat little item, and offer it for your consideration as stocking-stuffers, especially for "the guy who has everything".
That little cap snaps on the top of a 9V battery, and provides 600/75 hours of run time per battery at low/high power. LED life is listed as 100,000 hours. And it comes in various colors, including red and infrared.
The site, www.9voltlight.com, says the light was designed BY backpakers, FOR backpackers. The light has a shelf life of 5 years, and weighs 1.5 ounces.
This looks like one slick item if you're a backpacker, or need a dependable emergency light. Or if you have to buy a Christmas present for someone who already has everything.
