The Hobbit Hole IV – The Road Goes Ever On…
Posted on 08/04/2003 9:43:18 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
The Road Goes Ever On
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

Yeah, I've usually gotten that every several months from them, sent to the webmaster address listed on my pages. I haven't worried about it too much because they are sent out so sporadically. Not sure how you got targeted though. Is your email address listed on your profile page in the Hobbit Hole forum?

Well, my step-daughter had been my best friend before becoming my step-daughter.
(Jer-RY! Jer-RY! self-deprecation..)
She knew all there was to know about me and made sure she needled me about it quite often.
But the rack in the basement is truly a constructed joke for in thread use.
The 'scary' part is that I sometimes write short stories based off of real life, but it's hard for others to pick out where fact ends and fiction begins in the stories.
(I base my short stories on experiences, places, events, news items, or people.)
I have an uncanny ability to frighten people with them, and do not mean to!
I write for entertainment value, and end up with unintended side 'benefits'.
Hang in there, things will be sorted out eventually, but a joke based o it may be of more value.
(I suffer[?] from an odd sense of humor, and would make light of the situation quite often. But that is me.)

No way...he takes way to much pride in giving the best-most-clinical-professional-massage. You do, really, need to come down and see him.
To: PurpleQ
Well, just so ya know you're watched over. I know you've got plenty of family there to take care of you, but I am still available.
So, anything going on in Waco in the next 2 or 3 weeks? Anything I'm gonna miss? Did I already miss the Blues Festival.... ohoh,,, the rodeo's comin' up. I need to come home for that!

Woo-hoo! I feel so independent and smart! I managed to fix my kitchen sink.
OK, so it just involved replacing a coupla washers and putting everything back together. I choose to think I was brilliant for being able to do it all by myself. Only cost me about twenty bucks for the tools, putty and parts. Not nearly as bad as it woulda been had I had to have a plumber come out, I don't think...
Though of course, having a plumber come has its perks. ;)
To: Wneighbor
Stop in the road?
(My famous instance like that was "Screaching crash stop in a busy highway with step-daughter's friend in side seat mouthing at me until we were narrowly missed by traffic.")
Then it was abject fear on his part.
Step-daughter had warned him not to mouth at me beforehand.
He ignored all warnings to stay on my sunny windward side.
Did you give 'em heck?
*grin*

not really. Yeah the Fair & Rodeo is coming. Other than that nothing to write home about
To: RosieCotton
Though of course, having a plumber come has its perks.Yes, but only a few plumbers look as good as the one I found.
Still, it is far better to be able to do things oneself IMO. Self-satisfaction involved. very good.

I missed the blues festival huh?
I think Darkshear wants to hear the story about me stopping in the road and threatening your boyfriend/husband.

Well...it's the first step towards getting the house in order. Hard to get the kitchen clean when the drain doesn't work. It was leaking all over, and I really couldn't use that sink! Bad news. But it's fixed now. And I didn't even have to enlist brother help. Woo-hoo!
To: Darksheare
You really ought to ask PurpleQ about this story. I don't think her boyfriend expected quite the reaction he got from me. He's her hubby now. And a fine one too.... I just still have to give him a hard time.

Well, you did better than me. Things on the bike to fix - I like to tackle. But, remember when I tried with my plumbing? I am NOT Miss Fix-It. I will call someone in a heartbeat for household stuff. I just don't have a clue about that stuff.

I will have to ask him tonite what "he remembers" of the experience and fill you in on his point of view.
To: PurpleQ
I don't know if I want to hear his point of view. That was back during my major psycho days.
