The Hobbit Hole IV – The Road Goes Ever On…
Posted on 08/04/2003 9:43:18 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
The Road Goes Ever On
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

I happen to know a bit about pigs.... They are best cut and wrapped.... I wouldn't want to live near them.

Ok, ok, this should be able to lure OT back for a quick check-in...
WN, close your eyes....You know, poor Frodo wouldn't have been in this mess if Elrond had had the courage to just push Isildur into the Cracks of Doom when he had the chance. But did he?........NNNNOOOOOOO!!!!!! Instead he carries on for thousands of years with comments like "men are weak" blah, blah, blah!

In addition! The pigs are a long way off!
Ha! I wish I could remember when I first brought up the chickens. I swear, it popped into my mind in the HH3 and I just typed it up and now we have them!

Yeah - the smell, and flies, and you have to pour an unbelievable amount of food into them ... They are butchered at less than a year old, but in the mean time, I think they eat enough to sustain a third world nation.

They are done in what? Six months? And when I say farm, I mean no neighbors to be bothered by them, at least too close.
Two pigs would give me enough meat to supply my entire family and perhaps something to barter with...

If you feed them slop and leftovers like bread and fruit, their poo smells even worse.... Pig Chow is designed I think to make it at least bearable!

Yeah...though to be fair, it CAN be very inexpensive to feed 'em, if you have any connections with restaurants or groceries. His wife worked for a restaurant and used to bring home pails of scrapings and leftovers. Cost them almost nothing to raise 'em.
NOT something I would want to deal with, though.
