The Hobbit Hole IV – The Road Goes Ever On…

Posted on 08/04/2003 9:43:18 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

The Road Goes Ever On…

The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

I noticed that but I wasn't goin' to say anything. I didn't want 2J to think I was lookin' at that part of her husband.

I got a yard full of pecan trees at both my houses too.

Do NOT, I repeat DO NOT send them to my wife or sister-in-law. Sometime around the time my s-i-l was livin' with us their mom gave both of them some pecans. Unbenownst to me, somehow both of them put them in baskets that they stored in the attic.

Who knows how long we were feedin' them critters (rodents not the wife and s-i-l), but they chawed a hole in the attic floor (it's just plywood over the rafters).

I thought I got rid of 'em but apparently not. This year, I reckon they got tired of the attic, so they carried 'em to the garage for a picnic.

Little piles of shells and rodent droppings...grrrr...

I'd think the whole chunks would be okay as long as they weren't cylindrical.

Do NOT, I repeat DO NOT send them to my wife or sister-in-law.

You have nothing to fear. I sad anybody that wanted 'em could come get 'em. I DO NOT, understand this DO NOT, pick up pecans. I spent my childhood picking up pecans. This is something I decided I DO NOT have to do as an adult.

Besides, then you just have to pick 'em out. Another thing that's not on my list of things to do.
