This treasure of ecological extremes is really three separate worlds - the coast, the mountains and the rain forest. Along the shore, monumental sea stacks stand oblivious to the power of the Pacific while colorful urchin, crabs and starfish take refuge in delicate tide pools. These are the last wilderness beaches in the lower 48 states. In the rain forest, ferns grow to prehistoric size and moss hangs like drapery from the branches of ancient trees. Here in one of the world's only coniferous rain forests, you'll find the world's largest specimens of western cedar and Sitka spruce. In the alpine areas, rugged mountains wear wildflowers and glaciers fill rivers with a nourishing rage in spring.

Fun it is.

In the afternoons when the sun isn't on our window, I get to adjust the blinds so I can see out.

We had a 'git who tried to teach us how to use e-mail for our lesson this morning ... "did you know you could make a folder and archive your e-mail? that is tomorrow's lesson."
