Well, Chinchilla are mutant squirrels.
They look exactly like rather fat bugeyed mutant squirrels with the curiosity quotient of a cat.

This one's cute..
To: grannie9
It's abugeyed mutant squirrel...
And they're smarter than the normal squirrels, due to the larger head...

Thanks grannie for your response in my question of employment in Florida during the winter.
Hell, I am almost retired myself, but not quite.
Here is my favorite scenerio of spending the winter again in a warm clime.
I will meet a nice little conservative widow who needs miminal help with daily activities (although I am qualified medically to do so) who will pay me well for my company and making her a little highball in the evenings.
How should I write my ad to the newspapers?

I like it! It would be even better of doofus's head were on a pike!

Apologies for butting in, but when I was recently in Gulf Shores Beach, FL, there were all sorts of folks who had "helper" types accompanying them all over the place.
I've not a clue in hell what were their financial arrangements; but if so many people are doing it, from both sides, it has to work for both parties.
Keep us posted, and the very best of luck.

Good evening! Remember the discussion about pickled eggs? Did you ever post a recipe? I could be persuaded to try them.

Thanks. And here I thinking I am unskilled for the Florida market in the wintertime.
I am a Respiratory Therapist, for goodness sakes, even though out of the field now. Lord love a duck, I even am certified in advanced resusitation, if the need arises.
And I do make a nice highball, too.

You are needed in FL - I cannot tell you how many folks were on oxygen there.
You prolly could not have chosen a better vocation for FL - those guys are wheezing out their ass. Go find a situation there. They need you!

Oh my word, I forgot to post the family recipe for pickled eggs.
Just boil up a dozen eggs, peel and place in a quart jar. Bring to simmer 1 and one half cups vinegar and the same amount of water. Add 1 T pickling spice, 1 clove minced garlic, 1 bay leaf and several drops of Tabasco sauce. Oh, be brave, and add some more. Simmer ten minutes. Strain and pour over eggs in the jar. Do add a metal spoon while doing so as to not break the jar.
For Christmas, I add red food coloring for tradition.
The eggs will keep for about two weeks on the counter. But, do not think you will sue me if this is not so. LOL

I am going, going...gone to Florida this winter. These people need me...and I need warmth. LOL
To: Conservababe
Thanks so much. I'll give it a try, and report back.

Oh, wait. What kind of vinegar? White vinegar? Cider vinegar? Or does it even matter?
