Those who are “left” alive on earth when the Lord “comes down from heaven” will be “caught up together in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air.” The word rapture doesn’t even appear in the text.

Sure it does -- just not in the English translations. The Latin word from which we get "rapture" is translated "caught up" in the above verse.

Again, Paul said he was "caught up" to the third heaven. Where did he go? Was he taken up out of people's sight?
