are you familiar with Arthur Lee and the band, "Love"? You might enjoy their music, if you are not already familar with it.

I'm not sure if I've heard them. What songs/albums would you compare them to?

Jim Morrison once said if he could be half as popular as Love, he'd be satisfied. That was during the early '67 Whiskey A Go-Go days.

Love was an early psychedelic band with strong LA roots and sound. Interestingly enough, Arthur Lee was black; Love was one of the first integrated bands, especially psychedelic/rock bands. We hear of Hendrix, but Lee was a recluse and Love never went on tour. They were a local LA band exclusively. If I'm not mistaken, they cut 4 albums.

Arthur Lee was only on 2 of the albums. Lee fell on hard times, and ended up in prison for firing a gun in public. He had a long rap sheet from drug use (remember the psychedelic nature of his music). He was an enormously talented person, but he was very messed up.
