See http://www.abcnews.go.com/sections/primetime/Entertainment/dixiechicks030423.html for text of the interview.
It was Clinton-like in its patronizing dishonesty and incredible narcissism.
In so many words: "We said we 'support the troops' (code for "we just hope they get defeated", but we'll pass over that because it's bad for record sales) - why are all these extremists unfairly picking on us?"
This ought to rank up there with Connie Chung's interview of Gary Condit as a rehabilitation attempt which backfired. They came across as really loathesome.

Like all celebrities, they seem be confused and think "freedom of speech" means we have to keep liking them, buying their albums, attending their concerts, etc. regardless of what garbage they spout. They don't understand that when we practice our freedom by rejecting them, that is not "censorship" that is not UNAMERICAN. It is our RIGHT, OUR freedom, and OUR way of "speaking out".

The dark haired one on the left looks like a head transplant. I tried to follow her logic...but I could not get past the crossed eyes.

I would fire my handlers if they screwed up this bad. The manager must be a Hollywood liberal to get this so wrong.

The "beyond sisterhood" comment was just putting on the public face to say "we're all in this together" when I wouldn't be surprised if behind the scenes the two sisters are trying to cut Maines loose, or just not talking to her at all at this point.

I wonder if they ever thought about the fact that everyone has to use metal detectors after 9/11? I don't think they know the difference in Saddam Hussein and Osama Bin Laden because when asked about one, she answered about the other. lol!

I think all of this has to do with her husband who is an "actor", Adrian Pasdar.
Pasdar's family is Iranian. BTW.
The Dixie Chicks are a big business. Which is being badly mismanaged. There are a large number of people that surround them and depend on these musically talented airheads for their livelihoods. It's clear that these women have very little concern for the sizable number of people that work for them. But they are rich. What do they care?
What a trio of very self-centered shallow people. Stupid too because they don't understand that most Americans are sick and tired of these kinds of people.

LOL. She's not a FReeper. [YET] There's plenty of YUPPY's in that area who would buy them! But would she be willing to sell the to anyone who would be willing to buy them?

The fat one in the center has a passle of air-brushing to help her out. And looks like Senator Pardak - that worries me!!

They replayed the Michael Moore Oscar speach where he supports the Chicks and disses Bush. The first smart thing Natalie did (and last) all interview long was figure out that this kind of endorsement may not exactly be helping the Chicks!
Bruce Springsteen saying that the backlash was American is probably not helping either! The arrogance of these people never ceases to amaze me.

Pasdar's family is Iranian. BTW.And Pasdar appears on a regular show on PAX-TV, a decidely family, if not altogether Christian network, which is not something one would expect of the 'Hollywood' types. Must be a conspiracy of 'Hollywood' types to get in on the family networks, huh?

"Maybe take us off the air for a week, and give us a spanking...those radio stations, we have nothing against them. It's the people who have gone overboard and done such irrational things that take you back to the days of book-burning. That is a concern for me in our format, that this is how country music is being viewed now, by people who don't like country music, and I just don't like what that says," she told Sawyer. </> really smart a$$ed.

I got blasted a few minutes ago on another thread by posting that bit of information. lol! I think it's just their "Hollywood friends" and wanna-be themselves.
On one of Maines interviews she said that she met her husband at a party and spent the night with him that night but didn't "do anything". How stupid can you be to SAY that?

Springsteen's another has-been reaching self-parody status. His last album blew, and he used the bodies of the dead at WTC to sell it (this was his "introspective, post-9.11 album").

Please. I'm sure they all have degrees, probably Masters, in Political Science. And have attended the National Intelligence Briefings to select congressional committees. I'm sure they knew ALL about the reasons for this little conflict. I wonder if the one from Texas even voted..... given that they take their constituational rights so seriously, I'm sure they are model civic leaders of the entertainment industry.
