The crocodile tears are solely to help create a backlash against the conservatives, who rightfully held her feet to the fire. I pray this ploy/scheme/propoganda tool won't go over too well, though my hunch says it will.

Nope. She needs the rednecks to be successful in her chosen style of music and the rednecks don't forget things like this.

Somebody like Babs or Moore make their money primarily from liberals anyway -- or at least from both. They are not quite so literally biting the hand that feeds them.
