I emailed WCOL in Columbus, OH. This is the reply I got from one of the DJ's
Keith-
Thanks for your note! Although shocking, but maybe not so shocking of Natalie Maines comments on George Bush, in the end the public will decide if she shot herself in the foot by making those comments and not buying Dixie Chicks cd's...
Agree or disagree, she, like every other American has a constitutional right to their own opinion.
Thanks again for your concern and I do understand your frustration at a time like this.

From what I can tell, he told me to go take a flying leap.

IIWY I'd write him back and let him know you have the freedom not to support his advertising sponsors and the freedom to tell said sponsors exactly why.

And the public will decide what your\e stations ratings (which equal ad revenue) will be if you continue to play the Chicks.

I'll boycott WCOl whenever I visit the Columbus area (which is often due to family). I was never a huge fan of their station. Have you also contacted the mainstream radio stations such as WNCI and asked them as well? If you can get a major radio station in the Colubus area to boycott the dixie chicks, WCOL will realize they are losing listeners and hopefully change their tune.
