A friend just called and told me this. I guess West Texas has voted and chosen George W. Bush over Natalie Maines as it's most popular West Texan famous person! Friend says Most callers are anti-chicks and are requesting repeated playings of "Have you Forgotten" and Lee Greenwood's "Proud to be an American".

I love it when celebrities speak and the market replies. Maybe musicians should stick to making music?

She has the freedom of speech, but so do we! Her opinions STINK! Especially since president Bush has done nothing but try diplomacy so far. She can take a flying leap.

Any Luboock freepers that can answer this question.....Is Natalie Maines the daughter of one of the Maines Brothers? "The Maines Brothers" was a local country band that was very popular in the Lubbock area in the 70's and 80's. Those guys were good enough to make it big in Nashville, but decided to stay in Lubbock and raise their familes.

This is all we get? I guess that I'm going to have to give somebody a piece of my mind Sunday morning at church about a more permanent boycott.
BTW, my solution as well, was to play "Have you Forgotten" as a dedication to the Chicks every time their name came around to be played.

The Mr. just let me know that Midland's country stations are banning them as well...the local Encore station is not even going to play requests for them!
