If anyone, from her parents to her new patrons at McKinsey, actually cared about Chelsea, they would not hand her everyting on a silver platter. It builds character to earn one's accomplishments in life, and most people who get things without working for them are hurt, if not ruined by it.

McKinsey is using her for her connections and her celebrity, just as her parents used her as a prop (can you imagine being raised by those two?!).

I actually pity the girl. She hasn't got much of a chance of becoming a good, decent woman of integrity, and she will probably never even realize there is such a thing.

Anyone believe this piglet is going to have to do more than allow the company to tout her as an employee. Working hard is so out character I can't imagine that changing now.

This is one of the Great Truths of Life. I have seen so many people messed up by drugs or just by lying around doing nothing because they never HAD to work.

Old-line Southern families have always recognized this, and most decent families around here, even if their kids don't HAVE to work, SEND them out to work starting in the summers of their high school years. I don't believe that anyone should supervise others until they have been in the trenches doing hard work of some kind or another.

- I worked for a large animal vet, a dairy farm, a cattle ranch, and a summer camp before I started doing summer internships in law offices. Compared to that heavy lifting, ANY office work is a cakewalk.

Given her upbringing, I expect her to end up involved in such things as lesbianism, heavy substance abuse, and leftist activism. Many of these kinds of things plague a 'star' child who is missing a real father. Her mother turned her over to helpers to raise, and her father has no interests beyond himself. And this 'gift' of a high paying job is simply going to fan the flames of inadequacy and insecurity she already feels. It truly is a sad case.

And she has the experience in exactly what to consult someone about exactly what, I wonder?

Exactly. AA used to hire kids fresh from school, put 'em thru a six-week course (probably on maximizing billing) and called 'em "consultants". These poor kids did'nt even know which questions to ask.

And of course client management ate it up.

She's expert in getting drunk and passing out in the back of cars. Perhaps she can consult with the Ted Kennedy school of etiquette.
