Good afternoon out there -
Thanks for your perfectly rational analysis of our current situation.
My best friend of forty years and I are on the opposite sides of the political fence - so we just don't discuss politics when we're around each other. We value each other and all the good times we've had together more than we value the discussion of whether mr. peanut head was the worst president we've ever had. (My friend has been on some habitat builds with carter and finds him to be a swell guy. He may be that but he was still a horrible president.)
I hope that no one is FOR war, but rather are AGAINST madmen possessing and distributing WOMD and NBC agents. As far as I'm concerned, 9.11.01 forever changed the rules of engagement for us and the rest of the civilized world, of which I do not now consider muslims or muslim regimes to be a part.
Thanks for checking in Mom - we'll see how it goes.
Cheers, and only three(?) more days till serious shopping commences?

Glad that you made the distinction between being FOR war, and AGAINST the madmen of the world, who try to terrorize the world....I worded my support of the war effort poorly...
On that vein, I truly do think that few people, except for the very 'gung-ho', are ever FOR war, because most all people realize that war is not antiseptic, not the cleaned up version we see coming out of Hollywood so often...War is awful, was is horrendous, war maims, wounds, destroy, and kills not only the soldiers, but as a by product, innocent civilian men, women, and children...so no one in their right mind, is FOR war...its just too repugnant.....but in addition to all the horrible things that 'war' is, it is also sometimes necessary and inevitable....
BigDom leaves on Sunday evening, catching the 'Red Eye' flite to Florida...I will cook him a grand Prime Rib dinner, before he leaves so that he will not forget to come home again(the way to BigDoms heart is often through his tummy)....
And so...on Monday morning, serious shopping does begin...beware ebay...my fingers will be smoking, as my purse will be loaded with BigDoms bundle of 'guilt' money, his guilt about leaving me alone, assuaged by throwing money at me...

I used to be a soldier, so I can't say taht I'm not for war.
(Artillery, loud noises and bright flashes. figures, right?)
Kinda explains some of the weirdness I have, I guess.
A good question is, where did everyone go.
Saw Neets on a seperate thread, so she's here.
