Another Fine Gallery here, Robert Hildebrand
I think it will be just north of where this photo is taken, in the Pariah Wilderness.
We announced to one of our scout troops that I would be leading a hike into some narrows, (Peekabo and Spooky in Escalante in April) and the other two troops requested that they be invited too, and nearly all the boys have set that aside on their calendar as 3 days to not miss, so I have to go back down and verify I remember where things are and how to get around.
Hikes are funny these days, I go back to places I've been before, and when I'm there, it is like I've never seen them before. I somewhat dislike these memory games the mind plays when it discards what happened and substitutes what was imagined...
By the way, that river is one mile straight down.

I'm slightly lucky there, the car is the Wolfsburg Edition with the automatic tranny. (The tranny doesn't have problems so far.)
The only problem is the vacuum leak... and the darn sticker being torn off of the hood.
I do miss my 89 Golf..... too bad the original yowner out a hole the size of a quarter in the differential. Hatched the tranny on Route 80 westbound by mile marker 222. This after having driven the car with no gear lube in the differential for 30,000 miles. (Try that with an American car...Heh heh heh..) Aamco put a new tranny in it... that promptly blew up. Too bad the guy funding that repair failed ot get the lifetime warranty on it, considering he was driving it when the ranny hatched.
Garn, I have luck with cars.....

Just south west of this terrain we'll be headed. They called off the search for Columbia wreckage here because they couldn't spot or retrieve anything. I'll keep the boys on the bottom of the narrows (at least those boys who fit through them).
I like your analysis of the French. There is some correlation between a lack of morals and a lack of willingness to fight, but I don't dare expound on it right now you understand...

Hey.. I've been told I'm "The devil, ain't I".
I've also found that there's a Frenchy in the family tree..
And I've also been screamed at for being way too gutsy for my size. (5'5")
Maybe I'm right.. all the brave Frenchies left France long ago...
It's a conspiracy!! The brave Frenchies are everywhere!!! THEY'LL GO BACK TO FRANCE AND INVADE!!!!!!!
Hey.. that's not a bad idea....

Hi Darks,
There must be 42 levels of hell below France, and if the Frogs infest all 42 that is neither good nor bad. Short, Fat, Bald people might be another slice of humanity but they too shall pass away. Ugliness, Poverty, Shrieking Assinity and Hopelessness might be found together in another large segment of humanity, but as the famous quote goes, "Oh the Humanity!!!".
All that bothers me is the paying of taxes, because I see a hoard of stupid fools living off those taxes and shrieking obscenitites at me because I can affort to pay them. In the mean time I live from one vacation to the next, getting back to places where human problems are no bigger than ant hills, and I can always step on ant hills until I feel better.
Having religion always helps too, not because I take to it too well but when you are surrounded by people who have it, it restores your faith in humanity. As to dark and dreary epilogs, last night I was reading very old scriptures from Persia (The dead religion of Zoroaster left behind some fascinating descriptions of hell) and reached the point where the translator quit working because the descriptions of the place (the lower levels) were too graphic for his stomach. So I suppose there is something down there...

Coolbeans.
Now it makes sense why France is so.... odd.
They're being compelled by the power of hell to do stupid things.
Still say we go and terrorize them all.
Maybe we can call their women "Frauleine" while we're at it?
(I can do that too, there's the older line of my family that's GERMAN. ;-)...|)
We should've defeated Hitler, but somehow let him keep France... They're both useless and snobbish.

Cold here today, but the sun is strong and melting continues. Spring can't be far away. Can it? lol
To: Darksheare
I never thought I could possibly say this but for once I agree with you. Every point in your post is good. It restores my faith in humanity.
Kath-- There will be one more flurry here on Wednesday, and I should go skiing -- havn't been all season. Last season I did such a stupendous splitz it destroyed my ski suit from the knees to my waist. I was wretched to look at on the last return to base.
Loddie-- War is hell. But like Thomas Paine said, Give me liberty or give me death. It feels like it is time to liberate a bunch of quivering Arabs where we told them to rebel ten years ago and let them get crushed. Did you see Terik Aziz on the Sunday talk show, he was quite nonchalant when he said, "Oh Yes, after the Americans left in 1991 it took us 5 days to re-estabilsh order."
