My geography and time zone knowledge must be even worse than I thought.
How can you be closer to England than me?
Even the Eastern Carribean is now just past 8:15.

I know what you mean about the geography, I always thought if you just got on a southern California freeway and drove south you would end up in South America. Santiago, Chile is actually east of New York City.

I have weekend duty, and am stuck up here on top of the Andes for about 12-days straight. I've got a million things going on and actually welcome the weekend to get caught up. We're getting ready to blast a building down with explosives and all the roads are shut down for a couple of hours, so I can also get caught up with FReep'n.
To: Prentice
If you have time, read the Mark Steyn article...I posted the link above. I havn't laughed so hard at a written article in a long time. I'm so in awe of how clever some people are.
To: Prentice
Closer to Paris...the ultimate insult.
I'm not nearly as POed at the French over their anti-liberation of Iraq stand as I am knowing that when the dust settles we are going to find a lot of nasty weaponry with MADE IN FRANCE painted all over. I believe that both the germans and the french are highly agitated over this.
To: Cuttnhorse
I'm about to start a work day here (or should I say a week's worth of work in a day).
Been gone for a while to a nice warm place. I can't believe how deep a grip winter has here. It's scary. The worst I've ever seen, and I've seen way too many.
I'll try to get one of the wimmin to post some interesting pics in the next few days.
Don't blow up anything too big to handle that close to France....

Re time zones...Chile celebrates Daylight Savings time too, so we are actually two time zones east, because youse guys are on winter time. From west coast time, we bounce around between three and five hours difference depending on when everyone is foolin' with their clock. We get much closer when youse guys go to daylight savings time and we move to winter time.

I believe that both the germans and the french are highly agitated over this. Chirac and Schroder are both afraid that they are gonna end up in cells next to Slobodan Milosovich at The Hague facing War Crimes indictments for what they have sold the Iraqis. That's what is really at the base of their protest.

Yup. I was hearing yesterday that France in particular has sold fighters jets to Iraq, and continues to sell them parts for those jets, despite the fact that the UN resolutions forbids the sale of military equipment to Iraq. Surely they didn't think we wouldn't notice...

I noticed there is a Marc Rich thread on FR today. I am thinking perhaps he is an arms broker between Europe and Iraq
To: ValerieUSA
How so? I don't remember what it is he had done. I forget some things very quickly, and would have to go back and reread what the storm was all about.

Did you see the stuff on the Miss Russian Army contest?
Beauty, marksmanship, and throwing distance with a hand grenade.
I just wanna know if the are gonna have to throw the grenades while in swimsuit and high heels.
