I use to sing Barry Manilow songs just to watch my son cover his ears and run out of the room.

I confess, I like Barry Manilow.

ROFL! Barry! My only concerts of note are Led Zepplin, YES, Jethro Tull (all in the early 70's. Late 70's Donna Summer, Poco. Since then it's been Diana Ross, Kenny Rogers...oh it's hell to get old. I haven't been to a concert now in 12 years.

Barry Mannilow concert attendee....*hanging head in shame*I sang with Barry once. We go way back. I think the song was "The National Anthem". I think it was at a baseball game.

Hi FoxGirl, long time no see.
Look, Barry followed me around for many years and every time I had a love affair or had one end, he sang a song about it! The dude was right on target.
Still to this day, there are songs of his I listen to and relive those times-- Good and bad and always with tears.
Flame away if you must, but Barry touched my heart. And he will as long as I have life or hearing.

Barry Mannilow concert attendee....*hanging head in shame* That's nothing ;-). I actually *sang* in a Barry Manilow concert - back when I was in college. He went to the university's music dept. to "recruit" temp singers to do the "One Voice/I Write the Songs" finale. Actually it was a blast, truth to tell. Love Manilow's song writing ability - he is really a good performer, but hate his politics - he and Streisand apparently see eye-to-eye in this respect.
