We were in the Philippines when Elvis died and when I told my housegirl, we both sat down and cried for most of the afternoon. I never was a screaming, sqirming fan, but I liked his music and his character.

You know, the "where were you when you heard Elvis died" is as famous as "where were you when you heard about Kennedy". I was working second shift, J.C. Penny, Atlanta, data entry department. We heard it at 7 pm. I couldn't believe it, such shock, I really didn't think it real at all..... We all cried.
