umm... Condi Rice is a pretty damn good musician who could probably win a grammy if she tried.

umm... Condi Rice is a pretty damn good musician

Ermmm...she's a an amateur, a decent one, but there's a rather large gulf between someone like that and a professional.

The ultimate embarassment in this regard was, sadly William F. Buckley, who toured the country performing a Bach concerto in what is one of the biggest jokes in the history of recorded music. He probably turned a whole generation of pianists into liberals single-handedly. After one performance of his the conductor gave the concertmaster a purple heart.
