BB has more talent in his little finger - literally - than all of these narcissistic ingrates put together.
More wisdom also.
One more thing to think about. Most rockers and many C&W stars claim they started out to be blues-men. BB is one of the rare few who really is.

Thanks for the thread. I'll keep up with events here, as watching the show would probably nauseate me.

Are the Grammies being telecast in the East already, or was King being interviewed on some other show?

There is one artist I am rooting for:
Renée Fleming (Singing "Amazing Grace" at Ground Zero, September 2001)
She is up for Best Classical Album and Best Female Classical Vocalist.

Root for the polka guy! Nominated over 60 times and this time for his "Polkapalooza" album - I'm not kidding - a big WSJ article on him on Friday. LOL Guess I need a life! ;)

BB is one of the rare few who really is. He can also be as funny as hell - he appeared in the comedy "Kentucky Fried Movie" and was hilarious.

LUCILE!!! Be great if he'd walk out.

I thought CBS said they would cut their mics if anything political was said

Would be worth watching if a "hockey game" broke out amongst the participants.

I'd rather work a double shift at 911 than watch that crap.

Are the Grammies being telecast in the East already, or was King being interviewed on some other show? He was interviewed on his way into the theatre about 20 minutes ago.

I saw BB perform at his club in NYC a few months ago. He is still a great entertainer who respects his fans -- he stayed on stage for 2 1/2 hours. He is also very patriotic -- had his USA guitar strap and flag lapel and spoke several times about the gratitude he feels toward our way of life. I thought he was great before I ever saw him live, but he went up even further in my estimation afterward. Kind of makes Sheryl Crow and Don Henley and the other whining malcontents look mighty puny.

There might be a hockey game breaking out tonight with all of the anti war idiots angry that the mikes are cut off!

I didn't watch the Grammy's when they were only about music, and I'm damn sure not starting now that it is the alternate Democratic Convention.

I thought CBS said they would cut their mics if anything political was said They backed off of that. They are planning some viewers to tune in just to see the fireworks.
To: Partisan Hack
HLL, said she would put together the official awards show thread at 6:30 ET so it doesnt stretch to 2,000+ replies at the end.
This will do just fine as the red carpet 'arrival thread'

I wrote to CBS and told them I wouldn't be watching this politicized Pile Of Showbiz. I encourage others to do the same.
Don't watch. But if you do watch, please post the names of all the national advertisers so we can write them to express our disappointment and refusal to buy from them. (Now just watch the advertisers all be companies I love to buy from.)
