Good Morning. Cold weather has returned to the midwest after a couple of thawing days. There is still snow piled here and there. Spring can't come soon enough.

We had a blizzard yesterday as well. I was out at midnight in the bitter wind and cold shovelling my little heart out. I must have looked like a nut, but I like to shovel often so I don't have a huge amount to do all at one time.

I just looked out there and I have more snow and serious drifting. I doubt that I will be able to get out today because I have a sports car that's low to the ground. Bummer.

I've been reading elsewhere about your weather.

Your attitude towards digging out is heartwarming. I've read of a couple of people out east who haven't left their homes since last weekend's storm,,, waiting on the snow to MELT so they can get out. That thought process is extremely difficult for me to comprehend.

Stay warm, stay safe. This, too, shall pass.

Are the bunny ears intended to distract attention from the eyebrows? Yikes.

Another snowy day here, too. It's getting tiresome.

So Tony asks Janeane why she didn't protest Operation Desert Fox. She told Tony she did (she just wasn't so well known at the time) and Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins also protested.

So I went looking... Didn't find a thing. (words I used to search; operation desert fox protests sarandon garofalo) You don't suppose Janeane was lying do you?

Ah yes, revisionist history, also known as "I told you so, you just don't remember." Anyone can do it! Did you know I was prom queen, valedictorian and won a Grammy? No? Well, it's true, I just said it was.

There might be some fun at the Grammy's after all. Everybody get ready to email the tar out of CBS!

Get ready for antiwar protests at tomorrow night's Grammy Awards ceremony.

Despite a report that CBS executives had considered blocking politically outspoken rockers, the network said last night it would not pull the plug on anyone protesting a war against Iraq.

The Drudge Report, an Internet news site, quoted an anonymous CBS chieftain as saying the network would cut the microphone of any rocker who engaged in antiwar rhetoric.

But CBS quickly moved to squelch the story.

"There will be no restrictions on artistic expression or opinions expressed during acceptance speeches," said CBS spokesman Chris Ender.

Musician Sheryl Crow, who made headlines when she wore a "War Is Not the Answer" T-shirt at the American Music Awards in January, plans to hand out 300 "No War" buttons tomorrow.

"If we can't turn to our artists, who can we look to?" Crow told the Daily News. "I think there will be artists stepping forward and making statements."

At Thursday's Brit Awards in London, Chris Martin of English band Coldplay said, "We are all going to die when George Bush has his way. But it's great to go out with a bang." Link

You were prom queen, valedictorian and won a Grammy? How quaint.

I'm really Michelle Pfeiffer, but I like to keep that quiet so the rif-raf doesn't bother me for autographs.

Turn on Face the Nation. Will Farrell has a piece of duct tape on his lapel. Sarandon is a guest too. Rich Lowery is taking them both on.

Poor Rich tried his best but nothing penetrates those mellon heads of sarandon and farrell.

I've been busy emailing this story to as many "peace sites" as I could. Not that it will do any good but I hope for the best.

A Last Chance to Stop Iraq
By KENNETH M. POLLACK

WASHINGTON — With the Bush administration set to put a resolution on Iraq before the United Nations Security Council next week, those opposed to war will rally around the notion that Saddam Hussein can be deterred from aggression. They will continue to say that the mere presence of United Nations inspectors will prevent him from building nuclear weapons, and that even if he were to acquire them he could still be contained.

Unfortunately, these claims fly in the face of 12 years — and in truth more like 30 years — of history. Continued...

Kenneth M. Pollack, a former analyst of the Iraqi military at the C.I.A., is a fellow at the Saban Center for Middle East Policy at the Brookings Institution and author of "The Threatening Storm: The Case for Invading Iraq."

LOL! You mean Mike Farell? (Though Will would be pretty entertaining on with Bob Schieffer.)

You're Michelle Pfeiffer and I'm a prom queen - isn't revisionist history fun? Of course, we'll never be able to harness its awesome power like Hillary "granddaugher of Jews" and Bill "I remember the burning black churches" Clinton.

Oh my gosh. The transcript of Tony Snow's interview of Janeane Garofalo's is online. Kudos to anyone who can figure out what her point is supposed to be:

SNOW: OK, now, here's the question. You've said that Saddam Hussein is a mass murderer, he's somebody who has gone after weapons of mass destruction. You agree that the world would be better off without him in power. Why do you think a regime of inspections would unseat him?

GAROFALO: Well, actually, I think -- well, I think it's been abundantly clear that whether he complies to inspections or not is irrelevant. As it was to the Clinton administration, it's irrelevant here. This particular administration, as the Clinton administration did, they wanted into Iraq. Diplomacy last, war first.
