Susan Sontag has become the poster girl of anti-war protests among the intelligensia. But now a piece she wrote in 1999 about the Kosovo conflict has come to light...and it shows the blatant hypocracy of today's libs.

She deplores Europe's inaction "in the face of all this irrational slaughter and suffering," and observes: "Of course, it is easy to turn your eyes from what is happening if it is not happening to you."
In answer to the placards at antiwar demonstrations, she says: "For Peace. Against War. Who is not? But how can you stop those bent on genocide without making war?"
She argues that a dictator need not pose an immediate threat to those outside his borders to justify taking action against him: "Imagine that Nazi Germany had had no expansionist ambitions but had simply made it a policy in the late 1930's and early 1940's to slaughter all the German Jews. Do we think a government has the right to do whatever it wants on its own territory? Maybe the governments of Europe would have said that 60 years ago. But would we approve now of their decision?"
In other words, she used every single argument being used today TO SUPPORT WAR in Iraq. Of course, they saw Kosovo as a "humanitarian war", not one where we greedy Americans were just protecting our own national interests (God forbid!). This needs to be seen far and wide as a perfect example of the libs' real agenda: pulling down Bush.
OMG, she's still using that one eh? The truly amazing thing is NOBODY ever follows up when the "pending case" is finally over.
When she ran for gov. of FL you could feel the fear from the dims. They wanted to get rid of her so badly.
You've got to turn on Cspan and see the clowns (aka as dims). Check out McAwful's nose, what the heck is going on with that?!

007 OFFERS CLINTON ROLE
James Bond star Pierce Brosnan has apparently offered Bill Clinton a role in his next 007 film.
The Irish actor is said to have approached the former US President at a Hollywood event and asked him if he would like a cameo in the movie.
Clinton told Brosnan to arrange a meeting with his agent and see if a part and suitable pay cheque could be worked out, reports say.
A source told the Daily Star: "Pierce enjoys politics and Bill loves Hollywood.
"So this would be a great way for them to work together and teacher each other a tricks." [wonder what Mrs. Brosnan thinks of that?]

The hypocritical chocolate poodles who rule Belgium [LOL!] gave themselves universal jurisdiction to try war crimes cases anywhere in the space-time continuum, from the Big Bang to the last gasp of a crab-like creature on a desolate beach at the death of the universe.
Of course this godlike power was immediately used to go after Israel, via Ariel Sharon, for the Sabra/Shatila massacres committed by Christian Phalangists under the command of Elie Hobeika in 1982.
Today the Jerusalem Post reports that in 1990, Belgium refused requests from the Simon Wiesenthal Center to investigate 14 suspected Nazi war criminals who had emigrated to Belgium after World War II, because of a statute of limitations.
Unfortunately, the Jerusalem Post requires registration to read its articles, so the link doesn't help unless you're registered. Here's a story about Belgium going after Ariel Sharon for war crimes, however.

Former US President Bill Clinton, who has cancelled his visit to India in view of serious security considerations, will now address the India Today conclave on March one via live satellite. A press release from the conclave organisers on Saturday said Clinton would speak for about 90 minutes [ZZZZZZZZZZZ] at the gala dinner.
The conclave, being organised from February 28 to March two, will feature a galaxy of international and national leaders such as President A P J Abdul Kalam, Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, renowned futuroligist Alvin Toffler, Pakistan MP and former Cricket Captain Imran Khan, union ministers Arun Shourie and Arun Jaitley, Karnataka Chief Minister S M Krishna, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, and film personalities Shekhar Kapur and Aamir Khan. It violates international law, it violates God's law and the teachings of Jesus Christ. Iraq hasn't wronged us." The choice of Bishop Talbert on the part of the "Win Without War" campaign was well calculated – he is the chief ecumenical officer of the United Methodist Church. George Bush is a Methodist. 2. Proper cause
In a 1993 statement regarding just war, the U.S. Catholic Bishops stated that "force may be used only to correct a grave, public evil, i.e., aggression or massive violation of the basic rights of whole populations."
On this count, war against Iraq almost seems mandated. Indeed, if this is the criteria then the world community could be charged with immorality for having not gone to war. Quite apart from the threat of weapons of mass destruction in the hands of an aggressive dictator, there are the crimes against the Iraqi people who have been dipped in baths of acid, raped before family members, and have had their tongues cut out. The more I think about it, the more I am troubled. Have we abandoned fellow human beings to Saddam Hussein? In the eyes of God do we have the right to stand idly by in the name of peace while people are gassed and children torn from their mothers? Complete story
