you'd split up a lot families... my mother has been a perm-res for 40+ years and my wife (mother of 3 citizens) has been a perm-res for 12 years.

I'm sure that they are fine folks and all, but, out of curiosity, why aren't they citizens yet?

I belive any one living in this country, and enjoying the benefits of such living, has the OBLIGATION to become a citizen. Jury duty, and other civic matters come to mind.

If said person does not want to become a citizen GO AWAY.
