We need to get a confirm on this. If this is the case we need to make copies of the information and distribute them at all the local dealers and gun shows.

How soon people forget what an irate gun owning population did to Smith & Wesson when they jumped in bed with the gun banners.

Smith & Wesson has moved back to sanity and they've somewhat regained their standing in the firearms community.

Well, here's the commie group, 'Americans for Gun Safety' touting the S&W/Glock exploration of fingerprinting technology:

"We need to get a confirm on this. If this is the case we need to make copies of the information and distribute them at all the local dealers and gun shows."

Getting cooperation among gun dealers and at shows might be a problem in itself. During the Krinton gun bans, shows where I live refused to make announcements to the crowd or promote information about the threat posed by the government. At one point, I tried to get major sporting goods dealers interested in the idea of putting something newsy into their catalogs detailing the political climate for gun owners - 90% gave me the shrug. Additionally, it would not suprise me if some dealers might see exclusive sales rights as a boon to their business and not a loss.

Anyway, here's a quote from the AGS link above:

"Two firearm manufacturers, Smith & Wesson and Glock, are currently installing a system to produce digital images of ballistic material for all handguns produced. Each company will maintain its own database that will be accessible to law enforcement."

Now granted that's from AGS and direct primary sources are needed, but if it were not true, then S&W and Glock might want to correct that mis-information, eh?
