On taxes; we pay taxes in both the USA and Chile, but my company compensates us for the difference between what we would be paying in the US and what we pay here. The compensation amount is taxable, natch.

The company provides us with a housing allowance, vehicle, and utilities, which are converted to US dollars and are counted as taxable income. They also provide employees with tax preparation assistance...we use one of the big outfits...Arthur Anderson I think, and they manage to weasel the gross down to something we can live with... Mas o menos.
