I have a prayer request for my girlfriend's father John.
He is in his early seventies and suffers from diabetes and congestive heart failure. He also has a blood clot rendering him susceptable to a stroke.
He weighed 170 pounds in December. He is down to 117 and is in extreme pain. He is very weak as you might imagine.
He is undergoing heart surgery this Monday; a double bypass. During the operation they will also decide how much of his right leg to amputate, as he has developed gangrene in his foot.
He is extremely sick and he is in urgent need of prayer.
Thank you for remembering John and his daughter in your prayers.

I wanted to let those who have prayed for John know that I made a mistake in my original post here.
The double bypass John will receive on Monday morning isn't a heart operation: it involves taking blood vessels from different areas of his body and placing them in his right leg in an attempt to increase the circulation there. He is still scheduled for amputation due to the gangrene. He is still at risk for stroke due to the blood clot and will not receive anesthesia, but an epidural.
I'm sorry for my mistake; the term "double bypass" confused me and triggered a conclusion that he would be having heart surgery.
Thank you all again for your continued prayers.
