Hi Kathy, Gran has gone out for lunch today and I am a nervous wreck. I taught her how to use a knife and fork and not to tuck the napkin in her bra. She has promised that she would not collect everyone’s plates and takes them to the kitchen, nor pour her coffee in the saucer. She is to just to order water when the waiter asks what she wants to drink. We do not want her to follow Jim to the Whisky-a-Gogo in the sky.

Of course, I have also forbidden her to tell the story of her missing leg until everyone has finished eating. I have done my best and it is now in the hands of the gods.

I hope war breaks out soon so we can relax.
