Drill weekend. I have the early duty Saturday morning. I finagled getting assigned to the Navy galley. Since it's a Naval Air Station, Joint Reserve Base, there's no Air Force dining facility.

Navy does pretty good in the kitchen. They even send some of their best to the Culinary Institute of America for a month of special training.

How interesting that the Navy does that.

When I lived in Berlin back in the late 60's, we used to go to the French NCO club for dinner. That was the first place I ever ate escargot, and an entire 7 course dinner was $3.00. Served on fine china with candlelight, too. The Britich NCO club also served American military, but the food was not exactly something to write home about. Ha!
