In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of word for the day. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the word of the day; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-) Practice makes perfect.....post on....
obdurate\OB-du-rit; OB-dyu-rit\, adjective:
1. Hardened in feelings, especially against moral or mollifying influences; unyielding; hard-hearted; stubbornly wicked.
2. Hard; harsh; rugged; rough; intractable.
Etymology: Obdurate is from Latin obduratus, past participle of obduro, obdurare, to be hard against, from ob-, intensive prefix + durus, hard.
Synonyms: Hard; firm; unbending; inflexible; unyielding; stubborn; obstinate; impenitent; callous; unfeeling; insensible; unsusceptible.
Usage: Obdurate, Callous, Hardened. Callous denotes a deadening of the sensibilities; as, "a callous conscience." And as he takes the Podium for SOTU in '05, he will start out like this....
Allow me to introduce myself, Wile E. Coyote, Super Genius.
That's right-not just Genius, SUPER Genius. I note that this appellation is not common amongst the HIQ Groups. I've seen "Genius", "Universal Genius", "Genius of Distinction", and so-but no SUPER Genius. Perhaps "SUPER" seems too mundane? I disagree.
I just LOVE the way it rolls out! Wile E. Coyote-Super Genius!

Though in the actuality, this administration seems to be taking great glee, from playing Road Runner to the best laid plans of the opposition.....
AAMOF, that look in the pic strangely resembles Edwards when the Prez was taking Trial Lawyers to the woodshed over Medical costs...

well given my friend's musical tastes, it could very well be a reflection of that. she would be predisposed to like flatchestedgwenstefani over Shania anyway. i assure you, there are no circumstances under which xshub would find shania boring....
