Hi, Nully...I see you got home ok. It was a nice day for a drive the past couple of days.

I ahve been on some of the foreign news papers and the majority of posters to the talking points pages seem to think Powell did not make his case and there is a huge amoumt of USA bashing going on.

We are hated by so many, even our so called ally countries, because we are a strong and wealthy country. When they all have hard times from floods or famine or whatever, who do they come running to? And we give food and clothes and buckets of money and what we get in return is not a thank you but a slap. Maybe we should just pull our troops home, guard our own nation and to hell with the rest of them. But of course the economy of our world is so intertwined with other nations that we cant do that can we. so we are damned if we do and if we don't. Rant over.

I deliberately drove a couple hundred miles out of my way on a return trip from S. California, and stopped and glassed at several points along the way on the off chance I'd see something. (shuttle parts)...

I didn't. I didn't expect to. But I had to look.

Everyone who is out and about should keep their eyes open. Somewhere out there in California, Nevada, Arizona, or New Mexico are the first few parts to fall off the shuttle. It's a HUGE area, and the critical part is probably no bigger than a brick, or at the outside a cinderblock.

Odds of looking for it and finding it are near zero. Odds of finding it without looking are even lower...

Maybe what needs to happen so that France gets with the program is that something needs to upset them. I would hate to see harm come to people over there, after all I have family in France. But the govt needs a wakeup call.
