Don't say we didn't warn you! Spoilers are what this thread is all about. So bring your rumors (substantiated or not!), spoilers, spy reports, and bones of contention about them here as the snippets of RoTK news, photos and interviews come rolling in.

I wouldn't even recommend pinging people to this thread unless you know they want to see them. There are a lot of purists out there that hate to have anything given away before the movie comes out. I, however, am not one of those.

I will start a "RoTK spoilers ping list" separate from the other Tolkien ping lists… so let me know if you want to be on the spoiler alert list!" If we use this thread for that kind of stuff, we won't shock people who don't want to see it. (though I bet they look anyway!)

One tip….. Don't embed images from TORN (TheOneRing.Net) on this thread. If possible, load the image to another server, or just post a link to the TORN page. TORN's servers are powered by fleas I think, and are horrendously slow, particularly when they have something that is particularly good!

Thank you for the information on "Secondhand Lions." We just checked out the online trailer (hadn't heard of it until you said) and it looks like a movie worth sitting thru after watching the preview.

I hope it hits the internet at the same time, but if not.... I think a lot of us will be seeing Seconhand Lions!

More news; Someone spotted Eowyn in this book cover, she looks really sad. like Merry described her; 'He caught the glint of clear grey eyes; and then he shivered, for it came suddenly to him that it was the face of one without hope who goes in search of death.'
Alothough her arm looks like it's in a sling, whatever that might mean, I do not know.Oh not to mention the book looks neat.

Just to clear a few things up about the ROTK trailer.

1. It will be attached to Secondhand Lions, but won't be hitting the silver screen 'till Sept 26th. (But it maybe get it's online debut before then)
2. The trailer is 3 minutes long.
3. It contains almost all new footage, not just a rehash of the DVD preview.
4. We will get a brief tease of Shelob.

Some brief bits and pieces of other news and whisperings that you may have heard (or may not have)...
In terms on Oscar promotion, NLC will promote Viggo Mortensen for lead actor, Sean Astin for supporting, Liv Tyler for lead actress and Miranda Otto for Supporting.
New Line heads Robert Shaye and Michael Lynne saw a print of the now almost finished ROTK in London last week and called it "phenomenal".
