re: TTT was exciting in its own right, but I'm more eager to see it's Extended release. I felt that there was just too much left out of it)))

What was left out makes me wonder how PJ can manage to pull ROTK in under four hours...The book version of TTT had the Rohan/Fellowship going to Isengard to encounter the young hobbits and Sauruman, and the battle of Sam and Shelob, and Gandalf taking Pippin to Minas Tirith to meet Denethor. Those events will have to be incorporated into the final episode, which will really crowd things.

Don't forget, RoTK is not a very long story by itself. If you look at the book, fully one third of it is the Appendices. That's not to say that PJ won't cram lots of stuff into the movies; it can't be too long for me. I think the move to RoTK of the visit to Isengard and Frodo and Sam in Shelob's lair makes more sense. Everything will be resolved in the final movie. I'll enjoy the movie as it is and await the extended version of the DVD!

Oh, it makes sense--but I think it would make sense to have a twelve-hour ROTK, complete with copious appendices, told with a voice-over documentary...(g) I can't spend too much time in Middle-Earth.

To be covered in ROTK--Shelob,Cirith Ungol,Pippin/Gandalf to Minas Tirith, Encounter with Saruman at Orthanc, all TTT/book... ROTK: Then the Paths of the Dead, The King Lear-type torment of Denethor, Enormous Battle of Pelennor, with that much-longed-for duel of Eowyn and the Witchking, Farmir/Eowyn romance, Sam and Frodo's final denuemont at Doom--then I want a fabulous coronation/wedding with lots of sunshine and cake, and the final bittersweet scenes at the Grey Havens where we all cry.

Looks like a lot...

I agree. PJ's certainly got his work cut out for him, trying to cram all the good stuff into 4 hours. Hopefully, none of it will be "rushed", ie, giving only 10-15 minutes to the Paths of the Dead sequence.

PJ digs ghosts.... don't forget Galadriel and the faces in the marshes!

I am afraid he will spend too much time there! HA!

Basically, we've got Eowyn, Aragorn, Frodo, Gandalf and Faramir all looking really concerned about various developments, some cool footage of some locations and some game footage at the end.

Yay! A whole minute and 43 seconds!
It downloaded in about a second, but the picture wouldn't come up.

209 days. 16 hours.33 minutes and 25 seconds.
Almost in the 100's.

A second is too fast. I have cable and it took several seconds. I think you copied the wronk link or just a shortcut to it?

Hover over the [More] link and down at the bottom of your window it should show the source as a .mov file.... Right Click, save target as..... that one.

Something is wrong with my quicktime player. The TTT trailer from the offical site wont work on it either. The sound worked but no picture.

I streamed it from 576 and it worked fine, I bet torn's was better.
And I'd already seen the stills from that trailer do I wasn't going into meltdown.

It was longer! The 15 seconds of the other one was not long enough.

ROTK & TTT: EE Details?

Real Life Shelob Model?

Mattforce sends along these snippets gleamed from the Official LOTR Magazine's latest issue:

The two major changes in RotK are addition of TTT material and cutting of Scouring:

- Isengard sequence/VOS is at the beginning of RotK.

- Minas Morgul, stairs of Cirith Ungol and Shelob's lair also in RotK

- "We don't have the Scouring of the Shire." (In case anyone was holding out hope ... )

- At this point, no Ghan-Buri-Ghan. Doubts this will be added in pickups.

- Otherwise it follows the book "reasonably well."

Other stuff:

- Shelob will be "the creepiest and scariest of creatures." Based on the Tunnel Web spider of New Zealand. Photo above

- Mumakil and Nazgul will have center-stage appearances - more spectacular.

- Post-production should be completed and film "delivered" end of October, early November.

- Also of interest: "We only meet one new character, which is Denethor - and he's only new to those who don't check out The Two Towers extended cut in November!" Sounds like a comfirmation of the Faramir / Boromir / Denethor flashback.

Reminder.... these are actually pictures we/I have seen before:

Frodo and Sam under Osgiliath.

Frodo and Same in Osgiliath?Frodo and Sam

MattForce's find:

"I was browsing the net, and I came across a very interesting picture of Frodo and Sam underneath some sewers alone. Then it hit me. This is how they get to the East side of the Anduin during the battle of Osgiliath. I think they add this in cuz this was never in the movie, and I have never seen this pic before."

We've heard this rumour before , and it's no surprise that TORN community member Quintessential Websites posted an image of it, as it often does. It's a fantastic source of film images if you haven't already seen it. This image originally came from the Two Towers Photo Guide published by Houghton Mifflin. [Quintessential Website]
