the astrodome v. reliant stadium and minute maid field (aka enron field)

You'll find few people with greater fondness for the Astrodome than I but it's hard to call it superior to Reliant Stadium as an NFL facility. However, if Reliant Stadium were designed the way Minute Maid Park is it would have a giant hill at the 30 yard line and about five rows of seats midway in one of the end zones (not to mention nowhere to park).

still... while reliant stadium is a nice field, it was wholly unnecessary, as was minute maid field (park, stadium, etc.). come to think of it, the new light rail was unnecessary as well.
