I would love to pack my "things" and head there. However, my husband being a Lawyer and ONLY a Lawyer and in his 50's could never work as one in the US. You MUST be a US citizen to practice law anywhere in the United States. Now, if B.C. and Alberta for instance were annexed what would that make us?? - hyphenated Americans or real ones? My hubby says nobody wants a 56 year old Lawyer. He just doesn't know what kind of work he could find. These are just such vexing times. I am of the firm opinion that Chretien is SO crazy that he is doing everything he can to destroy his Party and the Country BEFORE he leaves. I would love to go back to the Mulrooney days. He and President Bush Sr. and still friends TODAY. In fact, the senior Bush's were at Brian and Mila Mulrooney's daughter's wedding a couple years ago. They visit often and appear to have formed a lifelong friendship. Also Mulrooney knew how to act on the national and international stage. I believe that GW is simply ignoring Canada until there is someone in there that he can work with.

OCC - we complain about the French (K'beck) ALL THE TIME. They are nothing but rebellious blood sucking leeches on this country, always have been and always will be UNTIL we get a Canadian Alliance Government who will promptly tell them to separate and kiss their asses goodbye. This is why I hold Ontario SO responsible for our situation. They and they alone could break the stranglehold that the Liberals have on Canada. We have been being blackmailed by Quebec for a long long time. We can't stand them.
