HGTV had a real nice program on the artist that did the card, and how they are chosen and what their subject matter should be.

The chinese gentleman (American citizen for 7 years) was invited this summer by Laura Bush to come to the White House and offered the opportuninty to do the card.

He was instructed that the card had to be portrait style as compared to landscape and that the original scene had to be done in oils, other than that Laura gave him free reign.

The card, by tradition, is of a scene somewhere in the White House. It could be the grounds or it could be in side the building itself, but it is always of or on the White House.

I think he did a terrific job. And I think the Bushes did an excellent job.

I have always said Merry Christmas, the only time I change that is if I specifically know someone is of a different faith.

To be honest, there are so few places where I go that I haven't really noticed. The Hindu liuor store owner has always wished me a Merry christmas and the gentleman I mentioned earlier.

However, I have noticed many, many more people just saying Seasons Greetings - and that is especially annoying with the public service commercials running on all the local channels with the local politicians.....I know all of them and know all of them celebrate Christmas - but less than half of them mentioned it in their messages.

I hate PC.

I understand it can become vomiting if you have a large enough obstruction in your throat.

i agree! I was dumbfounded to see a biblical verse in it and was very proud of him for it. the thread was very contentious as you can imagine with sane people saying, Sheesh, bubba.hil were hanging condoms on trees and here you have a prez with a bible verse and still you aren't happy!

we were at a Christmas party this weekend where they had an eggnog punch that my kids just loved. i promised to make it tonight. It was eggnog with 7up and ice cream in it. No one really liked eggnog bc it is cloyingly sweet, but the 7 up cuts that. i swear they would have just put a straw in the punchbowl if i'd have let them!
