"I hope you've been keeping an eye on the Democrats desperate attempts to keep the "Republicans are all racists" bit going a while longer. Right now they're
concentrating their efforts on the new Senate Majority Leader, Tennessee Republican Bill Frist. Leftist columnists have been busy with the Lexis-Nexus database trying to find "racist" statements they can pin on the new guy. So far they've come up with two.

1. During a recent election campaign stop Frist was handing out pencils with his name engraved on the side. He told an aid not to sharpen the pencils because he
"didn't want to get stuck." He knew that he would be handling large numbers of these pencils and didn't want to stick himself with one. Since there were blacks
present at the campaign stop Democrats are saying that this was "racism." Frist was expressing his fear that these blacks would take those pencils and use them to stab him. Yeah, right.

2. Frist also made a campaign statement to the effect that Washington was taking money away from Tennesseans and transplanting that money to places like Marion Berry's Washington DC. Well, since Marion Berry is black, that must have been a racist statement. It doesn't matter that the people of DC had just reelected a man with a drug conviction on his record who was bleeding the city treasury dry ... it only mattered that he was black. Say anything that can be considered critical of a black man, and you're a racist.

We'll keep an eye out for more examples of Republican "racism" for y'all. Uh oh. Wait a minute. "Y'all" is a Southern phrase, right? I wonder if the use of "y'all" is
racist? Probably so ... but only if a white guy uses it. "
