I still have one of my Dad's old pipesI don't know what happened to Daddy's pipes after he died. They used to be in a rack. Mama probably had them at the house, but I never asked her about them. I'll have to ask my older sister, who's cleaning out the house now that Mama's in the nursing home, to look for them.

She got an earful from the three of us! That is NOT the way to handled middle-school boys and their fights. Sure enough, next day, all is well... I'd been doing that since our oldest son was 5! He and his friend could be really ugly to each other, stomp home saying he'll never talk to him again, and 20 mins later they're playing as if nothing happened! The mother of one of our #2 son's friends came by one day after our son and hers had been in a spat and said she hoped we could still be friends. I just laughed and said, "Give them 20 minutes and you'll never know it happened!" She was surprised to find I was right!
The only time we ever intervened was when a little sh*t (pardon my French) in our daughter's class was harassing her EVERY DAY! She had told us that he said stupid things to her from time to time, but she didn't say it was all the time. I thought it was just a 13 yr old boy flirting in the stupid way they can do sometimes. When her grades tanked the final semester of the 6th grade, the school asked for a meeting and wanted to know if there was a problem at home and if she had trouble getting along with boys. We said no, mentioned this boy, then we told that he was doing this everyday. And they wanted to know if she was having trouble at HOME??!!! GRRR! That was one of the reasons we eventually decided to homeschool. We were tired of that crapola!

I think my biggest question would be why that idea occurred to whoever it occurred to. I think it was because Laura Flynn Boyle is SO skinny, she looked emaciated in that tutu! Somone thought skinny=Gollum and took off with it! I think it's hilarious!!

I never saw the original picture, hence my confusion! I don't even know who Laura Flynn Boyle IS!
Whee doggies is it ever COLD out there! My desire for chocolate finally won out over my desire to keep warm, but just barely!

Are you on? Go to C and F and see if you think Dale is kinda trashing me? I refered to the counting of hiakus in beats and it seems like he kinda trashed me...I responded right under him. See what you think...it's the Haiku thread.
How did I do in responding?
To: Overtaxed
It's the way he says "As taught in schools"...
I think I slammed him. I rarely respond to stuff like this but he was too stooopid for words.

BTW, that Copeland on Ebay sold for $102 and the auction was closed early. Wild, huh?
To: 2Jedismom
Hehehe....I guess you could count the "as taught in school" as a slam, but I think the rest of his post was just arguing a point. Don't know why he should be uppity....if that's the way it is "taught in school", it's probably wrong. :)
BTW I played "Kintail" with the Celtophile CD today on my C whistle!
To: Overtaxed
Do you think I argued my point ok?
To: Overtaxed
Pardon me, but he's just such a jackass. Ever since he posted that idiotic anti-Bush joke right before 9/11, he completely lost all my respect...not that I had much for him in the first place.
How is it going on the G?
To: 2Jedismom
Yes, that was okay. You didn't call him a stupid bull or anything. :)
To: 2Jedismom
Oh...he was the one who posted that? Well on the haiku thing, I think you had the right amount of "you don't know what you're talking about" attitude come through. :)
I get out of breath playing it. Most of the time I get the holes covered right. I can't play as fast a tempo yet as I can on the smaller whistles.
ACK!!!!!I don't know if this has been talked about before, but I was just watching "Star Tracks" on VH1 (showing actors who have picked up the mic) and they showed Leonard Nimoy singing "The Ballad of Bilbo Baggins"!! The video was HILARIOUS!! And through Googling I actually found it!
CLICK HERE AND LET THE NIGHTMARES BEGIN!
To: Overtaxed
You didn't call him a stupid bull or anything. :)Yeah, but it was all I could do not to...
He really made me mad back in September and don't care for him at all because of it. He's a stinking liberal slob. He's not what makes C and F good...and half of the people on there aren't what makes it good...it's the other half that I stick around for.
To: Dawntreader
NO!!!!! Not
that again!
Too late...the tune is back in my head again.

Post 7955!!! EEK!!!
To: Overtaxed
LOL! I assume it's been discussed? I had no idea that song was out there. It's new to me LOL.
That video is just WRONG
To: Dawntreader
I know better than to click the link! However...now the thing is stuck in my head again. Arrghhhh!!
