Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Here's to those who love not too wisely, know not wisely, but too well
To the girl who sighs with envy when she hears that wedding bell
To the guy who'd throw a party if he knew someone to call
Here's to the losers, bless them all
Here's to those who drink their dinners when that lady doesn't show
To the girl who'll wait for kisses underneath that mistletoe
To the lonely summer lovers when the leaves begin to fall
Here's to the losers, a-bless them all
Hey, Tom, Dick and Harry, come in out of the rain
Those torches you carry must be drowned in champagne
Here's the last toast of the evening, here's to those who still believe
All the losers will be winners, all the givers shall receive
Here's to trouble-free tomorrows, may your sorrows all be small
Here's to the losers, bless them all
MUSICAL INTERLUDE
Hey, Tom, Dick and Harry, come in out of that rain
Those torches you carry must be drowned in champagne
Here's the last toast of the evening, here's to those who still believe
All the losers will be winners, all the givers shall receive
Here's to trouble-free tomorrows, may your sorrows all be small
Here's to the losers, here's to the losers, here's to the losers
Bless them all!
I think this is WONDERFUL news. And I am happy for your s-i-l!
I wouldn't expect any less from you g'nad!
I did! I did! Of course I was class president and planned the whole thing. (It still counts as geeky.)
Don't answer the phone ecurbh! Quick, make a copy of that tape! Just ignore those Hollywood suits threatening to sue film pirates....YOUR LIFE IS AT STAKE, MAN!!!!
That movie is STILL one of the scariest I have seen.....
I want the job, so I plan on getting my suit out of the car (been keeping suit, heels and hose in there in case of last minute interviews) and heading over to their office to introduce myself and give them a color copy of the resume you designed for me!
So did you have a winning record?
Let's just say I was going. I was co-chair of the decorations even. But I had a "spiritual" awakening of sorts and decided dancing was wrong. Screwed up the rest of my high school experience.
Took me a full nine years to get completely away from that church. Thinking what I was like and what I let them tell me is really embarrassing. But it's one of the reasons I'm so likely to fly off the handle when someone criticizes my belief system.
I've been in a cult. I know what it's like to have it control your life. I ain't never goin' back.
/confession. I've said too much already.
Heh, I was class treasurer... it fit in better with one of my philosophies of life: to heck with power, just give me money!
there are those that say the Assemblies of God are a cult. lots of those. my fambly thinks i'm in a cult now.
I don't watch scary movies...but I made the mistake of renting that one. It was nighttime, too. I did have two of my brothers there, but...
About halfway through the movie, when we were all getting awfully tense, the TV suddenly switched off. At the exact same moment, the screen door came loose (outside) and started banging against the house. We all sat in the dark arguing over who would get up and a) close the door and b) figure out what was with the TV.
The TV ended up coming on of it's own accord. I think we practically held hands all the way to shut the door outside. And we DID manage to finish the movie. Then my brothers both went back to their apartment and left me all alone.
I didn't sleep much.
It's on my Netflix queue.
1-1 my junior year, 2-1 my senior year. It was a lot of fun once I learned to stop being nervous.
