The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Think it might put him off? I don't know OT. I would think a REAL Gondorian would be proud of his skivvyless state. Tho, he might be reluctant to admit it to a wholesome Hobbit lass.

Does he need a choreographer?Hm. That might be an easier question to ask...

Well, wasn't she also kinda weird about Mayonaise?I once got in a discussion with Steve, and then with his mother about mayo! I sent Steve to the store to get some and his mom went with him. He came home with Miracle Whip. I was sorely disappointed and said "Why didn't you get the mayo?" His mom said "What difference does it make, it all tastes the same?" I said it DIDN'T taste the same...salad dressing is sweet, and besides, it was meant to go on salad! She said "Well, it's cheaper!" and I replied that you get what you pay for.
I'm sure they thought I was nuts, but I don't care...I don't like salad dressing on my burger...my burger isn't a salad.

That might be an easier question to ask... Or could could ask if upward drafts chill him on windy wintery days.

I don't like mayonaise
or salad dressing on my burger. I like hot spicy mustard. But, it ain't a big enough deal to make an issue out of.
Good morning 2J!

We had friends when I was little who used to make tuna sandwiches with lots and lots of Miracle Whip. I loved tuna, but never could choke those things down. I don't know WHO came up with that concoction...
I don't like gobs of mayo on anything, but it's very good in its place!

I detest Miracle Whip...on anything.Seems the mayo/Miracle Whip issue affects a lot of folks.
That's odd. I didn't know there was an issue till last night.

She wanted to be save money (bless her, that's a virtue) and got Steve to buy the cheap salad dressing...but it's not a bargain if I won't EAT IT!!
I eat mayo and mustard on my burger...Steve eats ketchup which I find disgusting.

Well, since I am not overly fond of either mayo or Miracle Whip I don't really care which on goes in my tuna salad. But, I don't want a whole lot of whichever it is. And my tuna salad sammich needs plenty of hot spicy mustard on the bread! (tabasco sauce is good on it too.)

Well, I always knew the difference between mayo/salad dressing. As a kid I mistakenly picked up the wrong one at the general store for my great-grandma one day. I was sent back with a strong admonition as to the difference. Truth was, I was just in a hurry, wanted a fudgesickle or something, saw the white goop in the jar and grabbed it. I was probably 6 or so. Never made that error again!
But, still, don't want either on my sammich.

I DO like Tabasco with tuna. Used to eat that a lot back in my no-kitchen days in the military...dump a drained can of tuna in a bowl, drizzle with tabasco and eat with Ritz crackers.
