Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Only because you're afraid to get your feet dirty.
To: Corin Stormhands
Just like an elf to mess up the freshly painted walls... They'll probably try to repaint the place pink.
To: Corin Stormhands
Not true, we just wipe our feet. It doesn't take much effort at all.
To: Lil'freeper
Isn't it hard to get all the mud out of those curly toes?
To: Lil'freeper; Overtaxed
And aren't these hard to keep clean?
To: HairOfTheDog
I am here, I am here.

Someone tried to deride me on another thread for being a hobbit holer yesterday... Told them that the conversation back here was more intelligent than anything they could fathom having.

Someone tried to deride me on another thread for being a hobbit holer yesterdayYou know what I'd tell 'em...

Sometimes a person just needs a break from the news. Many Freepers are wound up so tightly over events it is frightening. Hobbit Hole-ing is great therapy.
To: ican'tbelieveit
I hope you didn't post a link as proof! They are bickering already!
I am clean!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is a noble thing!

TTT Set to break some Records
12/17/02, 4:27 am EST - Calisuri
This comes from our good friend Brandon Gray at BoxOfficeMojo.com:
Industry tracking numbers for 'The Two Towers' are through the roof (as expected). The movie's at an 99% awareness level among the public and over 80% have it as their first choice to see among all movies in release and coming out this weekend. These are 'Harry Potter'-level tracking numbers -- basically as highly rated as a movie can be. The biggest opening ever for an approximately three hour movie was posted by 'Pearl Harbor' on Memorial Day weekend in 2001 -- $59,078,912 at 3,214 theaters. Its tracking levels were nearly as high as 'The Two Towers' -- which bows at around 3,600 theaters -- suggesting that 'The Fellowship of the Ring's $47,211,490 December opening weekend record could very well be in danger.
Take a chance at guessing this week's gross and lear more. [More]

Oh no, idiots. I haven't linked any posts, :-).

Hey! I sure hope to see you tonight. What's your real name? I'm Kim and my hubby is Steve.
To: HairOfTheDog
I'll take a guess that TTT will rake in $62,000,000 this weekend...

Someone tried to deride me on another thread for being a hobbit holer yesterday... Oh yeah. I get that from the Pharisees over in the religion wars all the time...Not that I'm going over there or anything...
To: ksen
I really wish we could all go see it together. Who will be seeing it first?
To: HairOfTheDog; Lil'freeper; Corin Stormhands
Aahhhh! It only took 34 posts for the Dwarf/Elf wars to start taking off......wonder what took them so long?

I hope my freepmail wasn't too long. I was a little worried when I sent it. And you won't believe how much I edited it.
