Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

OT: do you need a larger saw or a smaller tree, sorry been waiting YEARS to do that one again. :-)
Good luck on the resume, who knows what MGNT. uses for their decisions, I figure mine use rock, paper, scissors.
To: 2Jedismom
2JM; gad, I wish I coulda seen and heard that, lol, that must have been great.
To: Corin Stormhands
CS: thin mints, more for US maybe :-)
To: osagebowman
Yeah....a larger saw, a smaller tree, and a woodstove. :)
Oh well...at least my immediate supervisors and managers like me. In fact, they volunteered to be references before I even asked.

Gnad-no reason we can't build a "primitive crossbow" how about an oak stock, hickory bow, hmmm. That just might be the ticket, sinew the bow even, need a heavy dense wood for the bolts, red oak, persimmon. The woods abound in raw materials. Turkey wing fletching, hide glue. I think we're on to something.

And an ABC affiliate covered it? Do ya think the media is getting some....um...negative feedback re rallies and protests?
To: Overtaxed
Our local affiliates covered our rally well...I mean well! Didn't even give much time to the anti-war protestors...just mentioned they were there, and that's fine.
That's a total of about 11,000 people for just Oklahoma!

CS: thin mints, more for US maybe... There are some days I'd trade Mithril for Thin Mints...

I quit smoking using Andes mints. Back in those days, a box of Andes mints cost the same as a pack of cigarettes. I bought three boxes of Andes mints a day and ate them instead. Then, for Christmas, my mom bought me a gigantic box of Andes mints and I proceeded to make myself positively sick on them. By the time I scarfed down that huge box of mints, I had kicked the habit and never wanted to see another Andes mint as long as I lived. I also had gained 10lbs.

My favorite ice cream is Mint Chocolate Chip.
To: Corin Stormhands
My favorite ice cream is Mint Chocolate Chip.Mmmmm, mine too. Especially Breyer's.

"My favorite ice cream is Mint Chocolate Chip."
I like Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, but by Publix. It is lethal.
To: 2Jedismom
My MIL used to love those Andes chocolate mints. I still like them alot, but only get them for special occasions, like Christmas.
Say, 10 lbs. is not too much of a weight gain, 2J. When I quit smoking 25 or so years ago, I gained 12 and have struggled with those 12 ever since. Although, these days I am keeping it around +7 lbs., which I am OK with.

Your cat bays at the moon, OT? Wait a minute, I am going outside to check on its phase.
To: HairOfTheDog
What's wrong with you, Miss Hair? I hope you feel better soon.
To: Sam Cree
No, I went from 97lbs to 107lbs...I needed to gain a bit, I looked like a skeleton! I smoked 3 packs a day...
Still, after I started running, I only weighed 105lbs tops, but very healthy. I went up to 128lbs when I was expecting Matthew, but went up to 140lbs expecting Joshua!
I'm 128lbs now. I don't mind it...but I'd still like to be a healthy 115lbs.
